Leaving Squarespace or Wix
Should you stay on Squarespace or Wix, or move to a custom-crafted site you still edit yourself? How to decide, and what you keep either way.
Website builders are a great way to start. The question is whether yours still fits the business you have now.
Stay on the builder if
- You like editing it and it does what your customers need.
- You mostly need it to look more polished and work better on phones.
Consider moving if
- You're fighting the template to make it look like your business.
- You need booking, invoices, or a client area the builder can't do well.
- You'd rather someone else handle the upkeep.
What you keep either way
Your domain, your words, and your images are yours. Moving is mostly a matter of rebuilding the pages, not starting your business's online presence over.
