Copywriting and brand kits

Website words that sound like you, and a simple logo, colors, and fonts that fit together. Copy is $49 a page and a brand kit is $149, added to any plan.

The hardest part of most website projects isn't the design. It's the blank page: what to say about your business, how to say it, and how to look established when you're just getting started. I can take both off your plate.

Copywriting: $49 a page

You tell me about your business, and I write the page for you, in plain language that sounds like you rather than a brochure.

How it works

  1. A conversation, not a form. We talk through what you do, who you do it for, what customers ask most, and what makes you different. Notes, old flyers, and reviews from happy customers all help.
  2. A first draft. I write each page around one clear job: explain a service, build trust, or get the visitor to call, book, or ask for a quote.
  3. Your edits. You mark anything that doesn't sound right, and I revise it. You have the final say on every word.

What good website copy does

  • Says what you do and where, within the first few seconds, in the words customers actually search for.
  • Answers the questions people ask before they buy: what it costs, what's included, how long it takes, and what happens next.
  • Uses short paragraphs, clear headings, and one obvious next step on every page.
  • Sounds like a person. Specifically, like you.

The pages most worth handing off

  • Home, because it has to say the most in the least space.
  • Services, where clear descriptions turn visitors into customers.
  • About, which most owners find hardest to write about themselves.
  • FAQ, which saves you from answering the same questions on the phone.

Brand kit: $149

A simple, professional look that works on your website and everywhere else your business shows up.

What's included

  • A simple logo, designed to read clearly both small (a phone screen or a social media profile) and large (a sign or a truck).
  • A color palette: a main color, a supporting color or two, and neutrals, chosen so text stays easy to read.
  • Fonts that work together: one for headings and one for everything else.
  • Used across your site, and ready for signs and social media.

How it works

  1. A short brief. You tell me about your business, your customers, the feel you're after (friendly, premium, rugged, playful), and a few logos or brands you like and don't like.
  2. A first look. I show you a logo direction with its colors and fonts, applied to a real page of your site, so you can judge it in context rather than on a blank background.
  3. Refinement. You tell me what's working and what isn't, and I refine it.
  4. Final files. Your logo, colors, and fonts are used across your site, and you get the files for signs and social media.

What it isn't

A brand kit is a strong, simple starting point. It isn't a full brand strategy, a naming project, or a trademark search. And if you already have a logo you like, you don't need one: I'll build the site around what you have.

What to send me

  • Anything you've already written: old website text, flyers, brochures, quotes you've sent, even social media posts.
  • Reviews or thank-you messages from customers. They show what people value, in their own words.
  • The questions customers ask you most, and how you answer them.
  • Your prices or price ranges, if you're comfortable publishing them.
  • A few competitors' sites, and what you like or dislike about each.

Add them to any plan

Copy and the brand kit are add-ons, so they work with any plan: a new site, a redesign, or pages you add later. Copy is priced per page, so you only pay for the pages you'd rather not write. See every add-on on the pricing page.

Rather write it yourself?

Plenty of owners do. My guide to planning your website has a page-by-page outline of what to write.

FAQ

Questions

Do I own the words and the logo?

Yes. Once they are paid for, the copy and the brand kit are yours to use anywhere, on your site and off it.

What if I do not like the first draft?

Tell me what feels off and I will revise it. The first draft is where we start, not where we finish.

Can you write just one page?

Yes. Copy is priced per page, so choose the pages you want help with and write the rest yourself.

Will the copy help with search?

Yes. I write in the words your customers use when they search, with clear titles and headings, and it still reads naturally to people.

Do I need a brand kit to get a website?

No. If you have a logo you like, I design the site around it. The brand kit is for businesses starting from nothing, or ready for a fresh look.
